Thompson, Dreessen & Dorner provides a wide range of geotechnical engineering services.  We work closely with our clients to determine the needs of each geotechnical study in order to define the scope of exploration that best meets the needs of the project.  Effective and economical foundation support solutions are determined for use by our clients.

Our Services include:

  • Exploration drilling - Soil samples obtained by our sampling staff are preserved and transported to our soil testing laboratory in appropriate containers to reduce disturbance.
  • Soil testing – Soils tests are conducted in our laboratory to compliment the field tests and the field boring log.  Our licensed professional engineers analyze results of field and laboratory tests to determine geotechnical properties of the encountered conditions.
  • Geotechnical Analyses – The collected data is analyzed to determine design parameters for foundation elements, settlement estimations, slope stability, or other geotechnical analysis as dictated by the clients specific project requirements.  A written report is prepared summarizing the exploration results along with the professional engineering recommendations and conclusions.

Our professional engineering services include land development; structures including residential, commercial, industrial; landfill liner and stability designs; earthen dam design; electric transmission and cellular tower base design, and infrastructure design including highway, railroad, bridge foundations, sewer, water line and water tower installations, shallow footings, mat foundations and deep foundations including driven wood, concrete and steel piles, auger –cast piles and drilled foundations, light gauge steel and vinyl sheet pile for erosion control and marina projects.
