Size: 32,000 CY of excavation, 8,800 CY of Topsoil Moved, 24,000 SF of P.C.C. Walking Trail, 495 LF of Hard Edge Lake Wall, 760 Tons of Limestone Rock Edging, 10,000 S.Y. of Erosion Control Blanket, 1,100 L.F. of Lake Edge Plantings

Features: Enlargement of the existing pond, stabilization of the shore line with lake edge plantings, rock edging and a sheet pile wall.  Installation of fishing access points and a 0.45 mile concrete walking trail circling the lake.  Construction of 6 plaza areas with interchangeable educational signs.
Construction cost: $770,000.00 with $300,000.00 being funded through the CLEAR grant program from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality

Brief Description: Restoration of the existing pond and park area to create an urban lake capable of supporting a fish population.  Enlargement of the existing lake to 4 acres with the average depth being 8 feet containing two zones 12 feet in depth,  removal of nutrient loaded sediments from the bottom of the lake,  and stabilization of the eroding shorelines.  Enhancement of fisherman access by providing several different kinds of access types including a natural edge with lake edge plantings, rock covered access points, a rock lined lake edge and hard edge lake walls.  The construction of a 0.45 walking trail circling the lake with plaza areas and educational signs provides access to the entire lake.
